The Horse Council intends to carefully choose which bills they will support each year, and look to initiate bills that will help the Nevada equine industry.
The Nevada Equine Council Legislative Committee, once formed, aims to take an active role in reviewing bills and codes and educating the equine community on legislation that affects them, Our goal is to be viewed as a neutral and credible source of information about the equine industry in Nevada.
Per USDA-APHIS, the 2024 HPA Final Rule implementation will be delayed until February 1, 2026. On Thursday, March 20, 2025, USDA-APHIS released a Public Inspection Document citing that on Friday, March 21, 2025, the rule will be delayed until 2026.
